Without Activation Adobe CS4 for MAC !
Step 1 – Make sure you’ve run a CS4 app once (use trial if asked). Quit any open CS4 apps.
Step 2 – If you’ve previously entered a serial, load any CS4 app, go to the Help menu and Deactivate. Quit any open CS4 apps.
Step 3 – Open Terminal (found in Applications/Utilities/). In the terminal window, paste in:
sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts
Step 4 – Hit return and type in your admin password.
Step 5 – A file will automatically open in TextEdit. In TextEdit, add new line at the bottom of the document and paste in the following:

Step 6 – Save the file. Do NOT do a “Save As”. Close the file.
Step 7 – Launch any CS4 app and enter the serial from the keygen. The serial will last for decades.

Thanks, but after a few days and opening photoshop for a few times, adobe tells me that I have to insert a new serial. This works, but I hope that it lasts more than a few days…

Poi per fortuna sono cresciuto e ho cominciato ad affinare i miei gusti ed a recuperare molti autori che nella mia ignoranza avevo snobbato.Giusto qualche tempo fa su radio Capital i NT erano lì a chiacchierare di “concerto grosso”, inevitabile l’ascolto di alcune tracce dal disco. Alla faccia di tutti i miei pregiudizi mi sono trovato ad esclamare “però, bella musica!” e sono stati immediatamente aggiunti nella lista della spesa.

When I copy and paste into terminal and hit ‘return’ text edit pops up but there is nothing written in text edit. I deleted it all by mistake when using it once before and now text edit is blank. please help?
The solution to having to manually delete /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db and enter the new key every so often is to do the following:
-follow all the steps in this article
-create a copy of cache.db (sudo cp cache.db cache.db.bak)
-save the following applescript as an application (File->Save As in Script Editor)
do shell script "sudo rm '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db';sudo cp '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db.bak' '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db'" password "sudo_password" with administrator privileges
-download and install Lingon
-open Lingon and make a new agent (a My Agent), point it to the application you just created, then tell it to run every time /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db is modified
-restart your computer (or Logout and back in)

You simply need to open a terminal and type:
“sudo cp /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db.bak”
(without quotations). The copied file is used by the script to restore the original cache.db file to the state it was in after the install so that the software thinks it is still on its first launch and does not expire the licence (which it will do if CS4 can not call home after around 5 tries). Hope this helps.

cache.db ( + I) attivare protezione!
Così il file (cache.db) non può essere modificato dal controllo di Adobe e mantiene sempre attivata la password.

Ho provato a fare questo. E funziona, finche provo ad aprre un’ altra volta l’ illustrator e mi chide di accettare i termini, acetto ma automaticamente si chiude.

Dopo aver installato Adobe CS4 e inserito la password Adobe riconosce che non è originale e diventa DEMO!!!
Sono riuscito a risolvere il problema così:
1) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db
mettere nel cestino cache.db……..(delete cache.d)
2) Aprire Adobe CS4 e immettere nuovamente la password……(reenter password)
3) uscire da Adobe CS4……..(exit Adobe CS4)
4) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db
cache.db (apple + I) attivare protezione!……..(cache.db (apple + I) activate protection)
Così il file (cache.db) non può essere modificato dal controllo di Adobe e mantiene sempre attivata la password.
ciao Fabio, ho provato anche io , e la cosa funziona per alcuni programmi. Però precedemente alla visione di questo blog, avevo provato ad immetere i codici per dreamviewer e photoshop, entrambi, adobe, me li ha bloccati, comunicandomi una scadenza della licenza. Ho provato a riavviare il mac e a disinstallare i programmi , ho provato pure a scaricare un altra versione del programma con un altro account del sito adobe, ma nulla. Come posso fare per rinnovare la licenza, o scaricarne una nuova, o comunque un metodo per eliminare il messaggio della licenza scaduta.

Per far partire Acrobat e distiller devi sproteggere momentaneamente cache.db e aprire acrobat inserendo una password per esempio (1118-0011-0841-2246-4404-1353). Poi esci e proteggi nuovamente cache.db.
A volte succede che la protezione cache.db sia inibita cioè appaia grigia!
basta copiarla momentaneamente sulla scrivania, cancellare cache.db e rimettere cache.db dalla scrivania nella sua cartella. Facendo così puoi protteggerla.

so i followed your process on a trial i had and it worked but it then installed some codecs and i got an email from adobe saying my trail had just started, should I get rid of this one and get another or was that just a fluke?

Just bought a new macbook with osx 10.56. Attempted to run the initial commands with no results. Pasted the first command “sudo…” then a password prompt came up. Clicked enter as I have no password and terminal just goes back to original prompt without opening any file. Any suggestions?
Give yourself a password.
Apple Menu > System Password > Accounts > Set Password

Hi, I did this for my friend and it works brilliantly, however on my laptop I pasted the command into terminal before having installed the programmes. Now I get a blank Installer alert which requires a force quit. Is there a way I can undo the terminal command I put in I feel this may be what is disabling the installation?
